Artist Statement
My paintings emerge from a mindful state of flow, shaped by an ongoing dialogue between material, movement, and memory. Working in mixed media, I create abstract landscapes inspired by my travels and by the profound sense of wonder I experience in nature.
Nature is my enduring source of inspiration. Whether exploring the movement and depth of the ocean or the vitality of botanical forms, I am drawn to the rhythms, energy, and quiet beauty that exist within the natural world.
I am fascinated by the way distance transforms our perception of the landscape. Seen from above, coastlines, rivers, and terrain become abstract forms that blur the boundary between geography and emotion. My paintings explore that space, where memory, movement, and the natural world converge. Through layered textures and fluid compositions, I seek to create immersive environments that invite moments of stillness, reflection, and connection.
As an advocate for sustainability, I hope my work reflects both the beauty and fragility of the natural world, encouraging a deeper appreciation for the environments we inhabit. I often incorporate hand-collected sand, seawater, and natural pigments into my paintings. These materials become more than texture—they carry a physical memory of the landscapes that inspire each work. Gold leaf appears throughout my work as a symbol of light, presence, and transformation. Occasionally, female figures emerge within my compositions, representing memory, resilience, and different versions of self.
After a long corporate career and the founding of my own sustainable fashion brand, I chose to devote myself fully to painting. Working from my studio in Tribeca, New York, I have developed my artistic voice through curiosity, experimentation, and intuition rather than formal academic training. I embrace uncertainty, trusting each painting to evolve naturally until it finds its own resolution.
